Engineers carrying out emergency gas repairs on A614 at Burton Agnes

Engineers from Northern Gas Networks are continuing to carry out emergency repairs on a medium pressure gas main at Burton Agnes, YO25 4NQ, after attending a gas escape on Wednesday 18th January.

In order for the repair to be carried out safely and to protect teams and members of the public, it has been necessary to close the A614 between Main Street at Harpham YO25 4NQ and Phos-n-las on Main St, Burton Agnes YO25 4NG.

A diversion has been put in place for motorists, however the road closure is likely to add significant time on to journeys between Driffield and Bridlington.

The closure will now remain in place throughout today (Thursday), in order for teams to continue the repair work safely.

Chris Keith, Business Operations Manager for Northern Gas Networks said: “We apologise for any inconvenience customers may experience while we carry out this essential repair.

“We’re working very hard to get this completed as safely and quickly as we can, and the road reopened as soon as possible.”

Northern Gas Networks are to carry out essential upgrade work/diversion work to maintain a safe and reliable gas supply in Baildon.

Northern Gas Networks (NGN), the gas distributor for the North of England, is carrying out essential work to ensure the continued safe and reliable supply of gas to customers in the Baildon Area.

The ageing main has undergone several recent emergency repairs, so has now been prioritised for urgent replacement. The ageing metal pipework is now being replaced by new, more durable plastic pipes, to ensure a safe and reliable supply of gas to customers now, while getting the network ready to transport alternative greener fuels such as hydrogen in the future.

The works will commence on 23rd January 2023 and is expected to last for approximately 16 weeks. It has been planned in collaboration with Bradford Council.

So that engineers can carry out the work safely and efficiently, and to protect the public, some traffic management measures will be put in place.

There will be a road closure on Moorgate / Northgate for approximately 2 weeks, from 30th January 2023 to 17th February 2023. The road closure may be extended if difficulties in the mains configuration is identified once works start. Traffic will divert to The Grove, West Lane, Lucy Hall Drive, Glen Road, Bingley Road and then back on to Hawksworth Road. Signs will be displayed for motorists and a full signed diversion put in place.

VMS signs are in situ, providing motorists with advanced notification.

While majority of the work will be carried out in the street, engineers will need to access customer properties to complete the project and ensure the continued safe and reliable supply of gas.

The ageing metal pipework is now being replaced by new, more durable plastic pipes, to ensure a safe and reliable supply of gas to customers now while getting the network ready to transport alternative greener fuels in the future.

The work will start from the Junction of Sewell lane to London Road by the Blue Rare and down to The junction of Cumwhintion Road on 30th January 2023 and is expected to last for 18 weeks. It has been planned in collaboration with Cumbria County Council.

So that engineers can carry out the work safely and efficiently, and to protect the public, some traffic management measures will be put in place during the works.

Traffic lights will be present along London Road during the works. NGN will share any updates if this change is required through as quickly as possible and full signage will be displayed for motorists.

While most of the work will be carried out in the street, engineers will need to access some customer properties to complete the project and ensure the continued safe and reliable supply of gas.

Northern Gas Networks (NGN), the gas distributor for the North of England, is carrying out essential work to ensure the continued safe and reliable supply of gas to customers in Horsforth.

The ageing metal pipework is now being replaced by new, more durable plastic pipes, to ensure a safe and reliable supply of gas to customers now while getting the network ready to transport alternative greener fuels in the future.

The work began last week (Tuesday 3rd ) January and is expected to take approximately 12 weeks to complete. It has been planned in collaboration with Leeds City Council.

So that engineers can carry out the work safely and efficiently, and to protect the members of the public, some traffic management measures will be put in place.

From Wednesday 25th January there will be a one-way road closure on Station Road, at Station Road roundabout (junction of Brownberrie Ave). Traffic will be able to enter the roundabout from Station Road but will not be able to exit the roundabout onto Station Road. There will also be three-way traffic lights will be in operation on Troy Road. These measures will be in place for approximately two weeks.

From Wednesday 1st March there will be temporary traffic lights on Low Lane. These will move along Low Lane in sections; starting at the junction of St James Drive and finishing at the junction of Lister Hill.

A signed diversion will be put in place and advance warning signs put in place.

The ageing metal pipework is now being replaced by new, more durable plastic pipes, to ensure a safe and reliable supply of gas to customers now, while getting the network ready to transport alternative greener fuels in the future.

The work will commence on 23rd January 2023 and is expected to last for approximately five weeks. It has been planned in collaboration with Bradford Council.

So that engineers can carry out the work safely and efficiently, and to protect the public, some traffic management measures will be put in place during the project.

Engineers will commence work on the junction of Legrams Lane/ Preston Street junction, working under three-way traffic lights.

There will be a road closure introduced on Preston Street for approximately two weeks, from 23rd January 2023 to 3rd February, which will be in place for around two weeks.

Traffic will divert from Preston Street to Norcroft Street, while signs will be displayed for motorists and a full signed diversion put in place.

After this section has been completed, the project will move further along on Legrams Lane to the junction of Shearbridge Road, working under four-way temporary lights.

To minimise the impact on road users, the three-way and four-way temporary lights will be manned at peak hours between 7am and 7pm, to ensure a smooth flow of traffic.

While majority of the work will be carried out in the street, engineers will need to access some customer properties to complete the project and ensure the continued safe and reliable supply of gas.

Northern Gas Networks (NGN), the gas distributor for the North of England, is carrying out essential work to ensure the continued safe and reliable supply of gas to customers around the Heighington Lane area of Newton Aycliffe.

Work to replace a gas main in this street will start on Tuesday 3rd January 2023 on the roundabout at the junction of Long Tens Way and Heighington Lane (B6444)

To keep our engineers and the public safe, temporary four-way traffic lights will be in place lights on the roundabout, which will then follow the work and drop to two-way lights on Heighington Lane. More four-way lights will then be required on the roundabout which joins St Andrews Way and Heighington Lane.

The work will last approximately 9 weeks in total. Signs will be displayed for motorists before and during the works but delays can be expected in the area, especially at commute times.

The work will start on Tuesday 3rd January 2023 on the junction of South Bank Road and Cargo Fleet Lane for approximately 6 weeks.

Temporary 4-way traffic lights will be in place lights on the junction. The lights will then follow the work down to the junction of South Bank Road and Pine Street.

Signs will be displayed for motorists before and during the works but there are likely to be some delays in the area, especially at commute times.

Essential gas mains repair work in Middlesbrough

Northern Gas Networks (NGN), the North of England’s gas distributor, are working on an emergency gas mains repair at the junction of Emerson Avenue and Tollsby Road in Middlesbrough.

Due to the location of the gas main, it has been necessary to temporarily close the road with immediate effect. The closure is expected to last several days and a signed diversion has been put in place.

Northern Gas Networks to carry out essential works to maintain a safe and reliable gas supply to homes and businesses in Leeds

From Tuesday 3rd January the North of England’s gas distributor Northern Gas Networks (NGN), will be upgrading the gas distribution network on Great North Road in Micklefield.

The 16 week project is part of NGN’s ongoing investment in the gas infrastructure in the area and involves reinforcement work to the gas network to ensure the continued, safe and reliable supply of gas to customers in the area for years to come.

Work will start on Tuesday 3rd January 2023 on pit lane after being planned in conjunction with Leeds City Council.

In order for engineers to carry out the work safely and efficiently, and to protect members of the public, it will be necessary to have in place two-way traffic signals – with the potential of three-way traffic signals required at certain points if required – due to the location of the gas main.

Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times and engineering teams will be working full time Monday – Friday.
