As of 7pm this evening (Friday 8 August) engineers from Northern Gas Networks had restored supply to 250 properties in the HX6 (Triangle) area of Sowerby Bridge, West Yorkshire, following an incident on Wednesday.
It is expected that, access permitting, all remaining customers will have their gas reconnected today.
Wayne Fisher, Customer Operations Area Manager, Northern Gas Networks, said: “Once again we’d like to apologise for the inconvenience caused and thank everyone for their patience at this time. We will be working hard to restore the gas supply to all customers affected as soon as possible.
“We will need access to all of the properties affected to turn the gas back and will let customers know when we need to enter their home.”
If you have any questions please speak to an engineer on site or contact the Customer Care team on 0845 634 0508, option 7.
Anyone who smells gas should call the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999 immediately, calls are answered at any time of day or night and an engineer will be sent out to assess the situation promptly.
