Northern Gas Networks (NGN), the gas distributor for the North of England, is carrying out emergency repair work to a gas main in Flemingate, Beverley.
In order to carry out the work safely and efficiently, a road closure will be in place at the Flemingate railway crossing from 9am today (Tuesday 14 May) into next week.
Scott Kitchingman, Business Operations Lead for Northern Gas Networks, said: “We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused while we carry out our work.
“This is a complex repair, however gas supplies to homes and businesses in the area will not be affected.
“We want to assure residents and road users that our engineers are working hard to complete this work as safely and as quickly as possible.”
