The ageing metal pipework is now being replaced by new, more durable, plastic pipes to ensure a safe and reliable supply of gas to customers now, while getting the network ready for the future.
Our work on Park Road, Hartlepool started on the 8th of April at the junction of Elwick Road. The temporary traffic lights will be removed as of the 17th of April and a full rolling road closure on Park Road will be in place from the junction of Queensbury for approximately six weeks, working in 200 metre sections, up to Wansbeck Gardens. There will be access to residents only for parking within the closed section and access will be via York Road only. Our work has been planned in collaboration Hartlepool Borough Council.
Steven Storey, Site Manager for Northern Gas Networks, said: “We would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused during these essential works. However, it is vital we complete them in order to continue to maintain a safe and reliable gas supply to the residents of Hartlepool.”
