Northern Gas Networks (NGN), the gas distributor for the North of England, is carrying out essential remedial work to the highway in Bishop Auckland.
The project involves carrying out repairs of the highway on Kingsway, Bishop Auckland. Work will start on 13th October 2022 and is expected to last for one week. It has been planned in collaboration with Durham County Council.
To carry out this work there will be a temporary road closure in place on Kingsway, between the junctions on the A689 and Durham Chare. There will be a one-way system in place whilst these works are taking place.
Signs will be displayed for motorists and a full signed diversion put in place for the lane that has been closed.
All the work will be carried out in the street, there will be no disruption to anyone’s gas supply NGN will not need any access to people’s properties.
David Wilkinson, Reinstatement Manager for Northern Gas Networks, said: “We would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused during these essential works.
“We want to assure residents and road users that we will be working hard to complete this essential work as safely and as quickly as possible.”
