Engineers from the North of England’s gas distributer, Northern Gas Networks (NGN), have been working around the clock to restore gas supplies to around 130 properties in Mirfield after water made its way into the gas mains on February 10.
With support from the local fire service, engineers have today been able to use specialist equipment to remove the water from the pipes.
Engineers are now going door to door to turn everyone safely back on gas at their meter. Supply to 63 properties has currently been restored with work ongoing this evening.
If you’re not at home when we call, we’ll leave a card with our contact details so that you can arrange for an engineer to come straight out.
