The North of England’s gas distributor, Northern Gas Networks (NGN), is investing more than £65k to upgrade the ageing gas distribution network in and around Halifax Road, Liversedge.
The project is part of NGN’s ongoing development of infrastructure and will involve replacing more than 400m of existing metal gas mains with more durable plastic pipes. This will ensure the continued safe and reliable supply of gas to customers in the area for years to come.
Starting on Wednesday 8 August, the project is scheduled to take approximately five-weeks. In order to carry out the works safely and efficiently, Halifax Road will be closed west-bound between Huddersfield Road and Lonsdale Hotel. During this time a diversion route will be clearly signposted.
All traffic from side roads between Lonsdale Terrace and Huddersfield Road will need to turn eastbound on Halifax Road.
Chris Nevison, Business Operations Lead for Northern Gas Networks said: “We would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused during these works, and thank our customers for their patience and support in getting them completed as quickly as possible.”
