Northern Gas Networks (NGN), the gas distributor for the North of England, is currently carrying out essential work to ensure the continued safe and reliable supply of gas to customers in Anlaby.

The ageing metal pipework is being upgraded to ensure a safe and reliable supply of gas to customers now while getting the network ready to transport alternative greener fuels in future.

Due to engineering difficulties, we’ve had to temporarily delay the works that is currently taking place on Boothferry Road near Holly Drive Junction.

We are planning to return to complete the work from next week on Thursday 4th July and aim to have all the works completed by Sunday 14th July.

Although engineers will not be present on site, we will continue to monitor the lane closure on Boothferry Road as it will remain in place until we return, and works is completed.

Chris Keith, Operations Manager for Northern Gas Networks, said: “We would like to apologise to local residents and businesses in the Boothferry Road area.

“We want to assure customers and motorists that we aim to have the delay resolved promptly and the works completed as quickly as possible.”

For further information about the work please contact NGN’s Customer Care Team on 0800 040 7766 or email: customercare@northerngas.co.uk.

Anyone that smells gas or suspects carbon monoxide should call the National Gas Emergency Service immediately on 0800 111 999. This line is in operation 24-hours a day, seven days a week.
