Northern Gas Networks (NGN), the gas distributor for the North of England, is carrying out essential work to ensure the continued safe and reliable supply of gas to customers in Hull.
The ageing metal pipework is being upgraded to ensure a safe and reliable supply of gas to customers now while getting the network ready to transport alternative greener fuels in the future.
Our five-week project has been carefully coordinated with Hull City Council and will begin on Saturday the 6th of July and is expected to be completed by the 11th of August.
For us to carry out the work safely and efficiently, and to protect the public, a road closure will be in place on County Road North at the National Avenue junction from Saturday the 6th of July until the 11th of August. Access for residents will be maintained via County Road South and Langdale Avenue.
A signed diversion will be in place for motorists and access will be maintained for cyclists and pedestrians.
Chris Keith, Operations Manager for Northern Gas Networks, said: “We would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused during these essential works. And no gas supplies to homes or businesses will be affected by our works.
“We want to assure residents and road users that we will be working hard to complete this work as safely and as quickly as possible.”
For further information about the work please contact NGN’s Customer Care Team on 0800 040 7766 or email: customercare@northerngas.co.uk.
