Northern Gas Networks (NGN), the gas distributor for the North of England, is carrying out essential work to ensure the continued safe and reliable supply of gas to customers in Stockton on Tees.
We are working to replace the ageing gas mains in and around the Stockton area. Work is due to begin on Durham Road, Stockton on Monday 13 May and will last approximately 7-8 weeks.
Due to the location of the gas main it will be necessary to put a contraflow system in place to reduce the road to one lane heading towards the petrol station and The Jockey Public House. There may be some delays in the area, especially at commute times.
We have planned this work in conjunction with Stockton Borough Council.
Chris Taylor, Site Manager for Northern Gas Networks, said: “We would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused during these essential works. However, it is vital we complete them in order to continue to maintain a safe and reliable gas supply to the residents of Stockton on Tees.
“We want to assure residents and road users that we will be working hard to complete this essential scheme as safely and as quickly as possible.”
For further information about the work please contact NGN’s Customer Care Team on 0800 040 7766 or email: customercare@northerngas.co.uk.
