Northern Gas Networks (NGN), the gas distributor for the North of England, is carrying out essential work to ensure the continued safe and reliable supply of gas to customers in Hull.
The ageing metal pipework is being upgraded to ensure a safe and reliable supply of gas to customers now while getting the network ready for the future.
The work which began on Monday the 11th of March and is scheduled to take 8 weeks to complete and has been planned in collaboration with Hull City Council.
So that engineers can carry out the work safely and efficiently, and to protect the public, some temporary traffic management will now be put in place.
From Monday the 22nd of April we will need to implement a road closure on Perth Street West for 3 weeks until Friday the 10th of May.
A signed diversion will be in place for motorists and updates can be found on one.network.co.uk
Scott Kitchingman, Business Operations Lead for Northern Gas Networks, said: “We would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused during these essential works. However, it is vital we complete them in order to continue to maintain a safe and reliable gas supply to the residents of Hull.
“We want to assure residents and road users that we will be working hard to complete this essential scheme as safely and as quickly as possible.”
