“Our emergency engineers responded to a report of a gas escape outside Yates’s Wine Lodge on Silver Street, Halifax, yesterday afternoon (7 March) and made the situation safe.
“The safety of our customers, members of the public and our engineers is our priority, and it was necessary to temporarily close Yates’s Wine Lodge while our team carried out work to repair the pipe. We were pleased to confirm to the Yates’s Wine Lodge team earlier today that the pub is now safe to reopen.
“Our engineers are now working to complete the repair to the gas pipe in the street. Our specialist reinstatement teams will then carry out work to return the road to normal which we expect to be complete by the middle of next week.”
“We apologies for any inconvenience caused, however the safety of the public is always our priority.”
