Scott Kitchingman, Business Operations Lead at Northern Gas Networks said:

“On Monday 22 January Northern Gas Networks (NGN) carried out emergency resurfacing work on Stoneferry Road, Hull following essential work to upgrade the gas pipes in the area.

“In order to carry out this work safely and efficiently it was necessary to install temporary traffic lights to protect the workforce and members of the public.

“Our contractor worked through the night to complete this work, however traffic management wasn’t removed until after the morning rush hour on Tuesday 23 January.  We recognise that this resulted in significant disruption in the local area and we apologise to road users and members of the public.”

If you smell gas or suspect carbon monoxide, call the National Gas Emergency Service immediately on 0800 111 999.
