Northern Gas Networks (NGN), the gas distributor for the North of England, is carrying out essential work to ensure the continued safe and reliable supply of gas to customers in Ashington.

We have unfortunately discovered a gas leak which is affecting the supply to Ashington Hirst Park Middle School. We were unable to fix the leak immediately and subsequently have lost the supply of gas to the school. Our teams are working as quickly as possible to repair the leak and we are hopeful that the supply will be restored by Monday at the latest.

Richie Dawson, Site Manager for Northern Gas Networks, said: “We would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused during these essential works. However, it is vital that we carry out this work in order to continue to maintain a safe and reliable gas supply to the residents of Ashington and the wider network.”
