In accordance with instructions from Calderdale Council there are road closures in place in the local area due to the bridge collapse.
NGN has been in the area since Monday 11th of December in order to maintain the gas supply to residents in the area.
Nick Thersby Operations Manager at NGN said: “Our work in the Bairstow Lane area is about maintaining gas supply to the local area. This has involved bringing a medium pressure main over land.
“There is 24 hour security and a cabin in the vicinity where we will need to run a generator to continue our work.
“We apologise for the noise from the generator while our work is taking place. We are working hard to ensure that we maintain gas supply to the 6500 customers potentially impacted.
“Working closely with Calderdale council, we are investigating a safe route for the gas main to be back under ground.”
Ends.
