Northern Gas Networks (NGN), the gas distributor for the North of England, is carrying out essential work to ensure the continued safe and reliable supply of gas to customers in Hartlepool.
The ageing metal pipework is now being replaced by new, more durable, plastic pipes to ensure a safe and reliable supply of gas to customers now, while getting the network ready for the future.
We are continuing to complete the renewal of the ageing metal gas mains on Seaton Lane, we have come across a lot of difficulties when completing this work and we apologise for these delays.
As you may be aware the work on Golden Flatts roundabout is now complete, and we are continuing our work on Seaton Lane towards The Owton Lodge, due to the location of the gas main, we will continue to use multi way lights until the 3rd of November.
As of the 6th of November, we will have a one-way closure, westbound only, on Seaton Lane at the junction of the roundabout of Owton Lodge, there will be a fully signed diversion in place via Brenda Road on to A689. This is expected to be in place for two weeks.
Michael Stevenson, Site Manager for Northern Gas Networks, said: “We would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused during these essential works. However, it is vital we complete them in order to continue to maintain a safe and reliable gas supply to the residents of Hartlepool.”
