Northern Gas Networks (NGN), the gas distributor for the North of England, continues to carry out essential work to ensure the continued safe and reliable supply of gas to customers in Burley in Wharfedale.
The ageing metal pipework is being replaced by new, more durable, plastic pipes to ensure a safe and reliable supply of gas to customers now, while getting the network ready for the future.
Unfortunately, the works are behind schedule, with an expected 7-week delay. This is due to unforeseen complexities and engineering difficulties encountered so far.
Chris Green, Business Operations Lead for Northern Gas Networks, said: “We apologise for the prolonged disruption in the Burley in Wharfedale area, please be assured that we are working hard to ensure that the work is completed as swiftly as possible with safety being the first priority.
“The team is focussed on an 18th December deadline, to ensure that the impact of the work is not felt during the Christmas period.
“Please bear with us, as we near the end of the works, having resolved some of the complexities and resource issued that have impacted on our original schedule.”
For further information about the work please contact NGN’s Customer Care Team on 0800 040 7766 or email: customercare@northerngas.co.uk.
