The North of England’s gas distributer, Northern Gas Networks (NGN), is currently carrying out emergency repair works to a gas main at Kirkgate, Wakefield.
In order to carry out the work safely and efficiently, a number of important traffic management measures are taking place. NGN is aware however, that the works would impact on the Star Walk movie event and car show taking place on Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th of April. The current one-way system on Sun Lane will therefore be reversed temporarily during the event leaving one lane closed over this period.
When work resumes on Tuesday 2nd May to put the road closure back on Kirkgate the one-way system on Sun Lane will be reversed. There will be signs in place displaying this change.
Matt Pursell Site Manager at Northern Gas Networks said: “We would like to thank customers for bearing with us while we carry out this essential repair work. When it is possible to ease restrictions, as is this case for the weekend coming, we are of course happy to do this.”
