Northern Gas Networks (NGN), the gas distributor for the North of England, is carrying out emergency repair work to ensure the continued safe and reliable supply of gas to customers in Bradley.
The ageing metal pipework is now being replaced by new, more durable plastic pipes, to ensure a safe and reliable supply of gas to customers now while getting the network ready to transport alternative greener fuels in the future.
The emergency work started today (6th March 2023) and unfortunately due to the nature of the work it is not possible to provide an exact end date at this time. The repair has been planned in collaboration with North Yorkshire Highways.
So that engineers can carry out the work safely and efficiently, and to protect the public, temporary two way traffic lights have been erected on the A629 Keighley Road, Skipton (BD20 9HE).
Chris Nevison, Business Operations Lead for Northern Gas Networks, said: “We’d like to apologise for any inconvenience caused during these essential works. However, it is vital we complete them in order to continue to maintain a safe and reliable gas supply to residents in the Skipton area. We’ll be working hard to complete this essential scheme as safely and as quickly as possible.”
