Northern Gas Networks (NGN), the gas distributor for the North of England, is carrying out essential work to a new gas pipe on Pine Street as part ensuring the continued safe and reliable supply of gas to customers around the South Bank Road area of Middlesbrough.
The work will start on Tuesday 3rd January 2023 on the junction of South Bank Road and Cargo Fleet Lane for approximately 6 weeks.
Temporary 4-way traffic lights will be in place lights on the junction. The lights will then follow the work down to the junction of South Bank Road and Pine Street.
Signs will be displayed for motorists before and during the works but there are likely to be some delays in the area, especially at commute times.
Stewart Whitehead, Site Manager for Northern Gas Networks, said: “We would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused during these essential works.
“We want to assure residents and road users that we will be working hard to complete this scheme as safely and as quickly as possible.”
