Northern Gas Networks (NGN), the gas distributor for the North of England, is carrying out essential work on the gas network at Dewsbury Road, Leeds on Sunday, 6th November.
The project is taking place to ensure the continued, safe and reliable supply of gas to customers in Leeds, and has been planned in collaboration with Leeds City Council.
So that engineers can carry out the work safely and efficiently, and to protect members of the public, some traffic management measures will be put in place.
Between 8am – 1pm on Sunday 6th November, two of the three lanes on the outbound carriageway of Dewsbury Road will be closed, in order to allow engineers to pinpoint the location of a gas escape under the highway.
Advance warning signs will be displayed for motorists.
Steve Pigott, Business Operations Lead for Northern Gas Networks, said: “We would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused during these essential works.
“However, it is vital we complete them in order to continue to maintain a safe and reliable gas supply to the residents of Leeds.
“We want to assure residents and road users that we will be working hard to complete this essential scheme as safely and as quickly as possible.”
