Essential repairs following a gas escape in Beverley Road in Hull have been completed by engineers from the North of England’s gas distributer, Northern Gas Networks (NGN).
NGN engineers worked tirelessly over the Bank Holiday weekend to ensure that disruption to motorists and residents was kept to a minimum.
Reinstatement is now complete in both the public footpath and the carriageway on Station Drive and temporary traffic lights were removed from the road yesterday evening (Tuesday 1 September).
Russ Kaye, Business Operations Manager for Northern Gas Networks, said: “We’ve done everything we can to keep traffic moving on this busy road and I’d like to thank everyone for their cooperation. I’d also like to apologise for any inconvenience caused while we carried out these essential repairs.”
NGN has extra safety measures in place to enable safe working while we continue to live with Covid-19 and workers will adhere to safe hygiene practices and practise social distancing wherever possible.
Gas supplies to homes and businesses in the area were not affected.
