The north of England’s gas distributer, Northern Gas Networks (NGN), is investing £300k to upgrade the gas distribution network in and around Denby Dale Road near Wakefield, West Yorkshire.
The project is part of NGN’s ongoing investment in the gas infrastructure in the area and involves replacing 80m of existing metal gas mains with more durable plastic pipes, to ensure the continued safe and reliable supply of gas to customers for years to come.
Work at the site has now started and is expected to take three weeks to complete.
In order for the works to be completed safely and efficiently, is it necessary to introduce three-way temporary traffic signals on Denby Dale Road, between the junctions with Broadcut Lane and Hollin Lane. The temporary signals will stay in place for approximately three weeks and will be manned between the hours of 7am and 7pm to help ease any traffic congestion. Your travel time may be affected, so please allow extra time for your journey.
All works have been planned in conjunction with Wakefield Council.
Russell Kaye, the Business Operations Lead for Northern Gas Network, said: “We would like to thank all our customers for their patience while we complete these essential works. We are sorry for the inconvenience the works will cause.”
