The North of England’s gas distributer, Northern Gas Networks (NGN), is investing £38,000 to upgrade to the gas distribution network in Gowdall Road area of Gowdall.
The project will begin on the 21st of January and is planned to finish on the 11th of February. The works are part of NGN’s ongoing development of infrastructure in the area and involves replacing 32m of existing metal gas mains with more durable plastic pipes, to ensure the continued safe and reliable supply of gas to customers for years to come.
To complete the work safely the following road closure will be in place; Gowdall Road will be closed for a 50m section opposite Oakland Waters. A full signed diversion will be in place for motorists and access to Oakland Waters will be maintained. Our customer care officer has been on site to speak with the affected businesses in the area.
All works have been planned in conjunction with Selby District Council. Steve Howard, Site Manager for Northern Gas Networks said “We would like to thank all our customers for their patience whilst we complete these essential works. We are sorry for the inconvenience the works will cause’’.
