The North of England’s gas distributer, Northern Gas Networks (NGN), is investing £124k to upgrade the ageing gas distribution network in and around the Cross Green area of Leeds.
The major project is part of NGN’s ongoing development of infrastructure in Leeds and is due to start on 29th October with an estimated duration of six weeks.
In order for engineers to complete the works safely and efficiently, some essential traffic management will be in place:
Two-way traffic signals will be introduced on Easy Road, manually operated at peak times during the day. The lights will be in place for the full duration of the scheme.
NGN’s dedicated Customer Care officers will continue to be site throughout the scheme, keeping residents and businesses updated on progress.
It is likely that on-street parking will be affected during the scheme, and Customer Care officers will be door-knocking customers to make them aware of any restrictions.
Matty McBride, Business Operations Lead for Northern Gas Networks, said: “We would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused during these works, and thank our customers for their patience and support in getting them completed as quickly as possible”.
