The North of England’s gas distributer, Northern Gas Networks (NGN), is carrying out work to divert a gas main situated at Thorpe Park Business Park, Colton, Leeds.
The essential diversion work is due to begin on Friday 18 August and will take place across three weekends in order to keep disruption to a minimum for local businesses.
In order to carry out the works safely and efficiently, the northbound entry slip road of the M1 at Thorpe Park (Junction 46) and the A63 link roads will be closed to allow NGN to safely divert the gas pipeline away from a development site at the business park.
The slip road will be shut from 7pm on Friday 18 August until 5am on Monday 21 August, Friday 1 September until Monday 4 September and Friday 8 September until Monday 11 September.
A signed diversion route will be in place for motorists.
Jade Wardle, Stakeholder Manager for Northern Gas Networks said: “We have been working closely with Leeds City Council to carefully plan these works to minimise any disruption to customers.
“We would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused and thank our customers for their patience and support in getting them completed as quickly as possible.”
